7月になりました。あぁもう1年の半分が過ぎてしまった…
と気付かされる月初め。
街のあちこちで七夕の飾りを目にするようになりました
七夕とは、中国から伝わった伝説や風習が組み合わさって生まれた
日本の伝統的な年中行事です
ロマンチック度ゼロで説明すると、ラブラブ過ぎて職務怠慢に
なってしまった織姫と彦星が、罰として天の川の両岸に引き離され
1年に1度、7月7日に会うことを許されたという伝説です
この日、2人は待ちに待った「再開」という願いを叶えます
私たちもそれに便乗して「2人のように願い事が叶いますように」と
短冊に色々な願い事を書いて、笹や竹の葉に飾るようになりました
今でも公共の施設やショッピングモールなどに笹と短冊が置いてあって
自由に願い事を書いて飾れるコーナーがあったりします
それでは今回は日本人の色々な願い事と、決して上手いとはいえない

やっぱり男女の友情は成り立たない、という例の１つなのでしょうか？

July is here — the month that makes you realize,
“Oh wow, half the year’s already gone…”
All around town, you start to see Tanabata decorations appearing.
Tanabata is a traditional Japanese festival that was born from a blend of Chinese legends and customs.
If I explain it with zero romance, it’s basically the story of Orihime and Hikoboshi — two lovers who got so caught up in being in love that they started neglecting their work.
As punishment, they were separated to opposite sides of the Milky Way, allowed to meet only once a year on July 7.
On that day, the two finally get to fulfill their long-awaited wish: to be reunited.
Following their example, people in Japan write down their own wishes on small colorful strips of paper called tanzaku, and hang them on bamboo branches, hoping their dreams will come true too.
Even today, you can find Tanabata displays in public spaces and shopping malls — complete with bamboo and blank tanzaku so anyone can write and hang their wishes.
So this time, let’s take a look at some of the many wishes people write in Japan —
along with the charming, if not exactly graceful, handwriting behind them. 🎵

in other words, they’re wishing for perfect scores in every subject!

I like how they’re trying to manage their own budget and buy it on their own.
Judging from the drawing, it’s probably a man — maybe an older guy.
He’s adding his own wish to a stranger’s, which is quite unusual.
But this kind of exchange really warms the heart.
That kind of wish is pretty common, but the next one really caught my attention.
What kind of situation is that, “I hope no one confesses their love to me”?
Do they want to stay just friends?
Or is this one of those classic cases that proves “friendship between men and women doesn’t last”?
There are all sorts of wishes, but I think this is the perfect one to wrap things up with.
