やってきました
忘年会というのは、今年一年の苦労を忘れるためにパーッと

A bōnenkai (literally “forget-the-year party”) is meant to help people forget the hardships of the past year and just let loose —
though, let’s be honest, it’s really just an excuse to get together and have a drink! 🍻
And after that, it’s pretty common to head to karaoke for the nijikai, or “second party,”
so today I’ll be sharing some fun karaoke song recommendations to help you sing your heart out!
When it comes to karaoke, make sure to pick songs that most Japanese people know.
Otherwise, while you’re singing your heart out, everyone else might just use the time to look for their next song! 😅
If you’re going to sing in English, go for something universally famous—
like Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
Songs that make people want to join in, such as the Beatles’ “Help!” or Queen’s “We Will Rock You,”
can really bring everyone together and boost the group energy!
For women, this time of year calls for classics like Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You”
or “Let It Go” from the movie Frozen (known in Japan as Anna and the Snow Queen).
Everyone knows these songs, and they never fail to lift the mood! 🎶
If a native English speaker sings one of these, I bet everyone will be completely captivated.
