今回は世界初の技術を含む、偽造防止技術に注目したいと思います
まずは目玉の世界初の技術から！
◇高精細すき入れ
従来のすき入れに、新たに高精細すき入れ模様を採用
肖像画の周囲に綿密な画線で構成されたひしがたっぽい連続模様が
見えますでしょうか。。。？
◇3Dホログラム
五千円と一万円にある、シルバーに光るストライプの部分

。。。ちょっと豪華すぎなんじゃないでしょうか（笑）
これまでの技術もあなどってはいけません
◇新凹版印刷
ちなみにこの〝凹〟という漢字、なんともユニークですよね
音読みで「オウ」訓読みだと「ヘコむ・クボむ」になります
しかも〝凸〟という漢字とペアになると
凹凸→おうとつ 逆の順番になると 凸凹→でこぼこ
なんだか見た目の雰囲気で納得しまいますよね♪
話をお札に戻して。。。
額面数字や識別マークには、インキを高く盛り上げる
深凹版印刷が使われ、触るとザラザラした感じがあります
◇パールインキ
お札を傾けると、左右両端の余白部分に
ピンク色の光沢が見える。。。らしいですが
〝おぉ‼︎〟…と言えるほどはよくわかりません
◇潜像模様
五千円
お札を傾けると、表面には額面数字の「5000」
裏面には「NIPPON」の文字が見えます
◇特殊発光インキ
一万円
紫外線を当てると、表面の印章や、裏表の図柄の
一部が発光します。一般人がいつ見れるというのだ…
◇マイクロ文字
千円
五千円
一万円
個人的には、こういう細かい部分にじわじわきます(笑）

This time, I’d like to focus on the anti-counterfeiting technologies, including some that are the first of their kind in the world.
Let’s start with the highlight: a world-first technology — high-definition intaglio printing!
Building on traditional intaglio printing, a new high-definition intaglio pattern has been introduced. Can you see the diamond-like repeating pattern around the portrait, made up of finely detailed lines?
3D Hologram
This is the silver, shiny stripe found on the ¥5,000 and ¥10,000 notes.
Isn’t it a bit too fancy? (lol)
But we shouldn’t underestimate the technologies that came before this either.
New Intaglio Printing
By the way, the kanji for “concave” (凹) is quite unique. Its on’yomi (Chinese reading) is “ō,” and the kun’yomi (Japanese reading) is “hekomu / kubomu,” meaning “to be sunken or hollow.”
Interestingly, it pairs with the kanji for “convex” (凸): in the order 凹凸 it’s read as “ōtotsu,” and in the reverse order 凸凹 it’s read as “dekoboko,” meaning “bumpy.”
Looking at them, it really does make sense just by the way they look!
Back to the banknotes…
The denomination numbers and identification marks are printed using deep intaglio printing, which raises the ink noticeably. You can feel a slightly rough texture when you touch them.
Pearl Ink
When you tilt the banknote, a pinkish sheen is said to appear in the blank spaces at both ends. Honestly, I can’t say it’s obvious enough to make you go “Wow!”
Latent Image
When you tilt the banknote, the front reveals the denomination number “5000,” and the back shows the word “NIPPON.”
Special Fluorescent Ink
When exposed to ultraviolet light, the seal on the front and parts of the designs on both sides glow. But honestly… when would the average person ever get to see this?
Microtext
Personally, I get a kick out of these tiny, detailed features (lol).
If you ever get a chance to hold a Japanese banknote, take a good, long look at it.
