Happy 2nd Duoversary

The English translation is below

Duolingo

Screenshot

Screenshot

Screenshot

Screenshot

Screenshot

Screenshot

Screenshot

Screenshot

I’ve been learning Spanish using Duolingo, and the other day I received an email saying that it has now been two years since I started using the app.

What I’m especially proud of is that my streak goes all the way back to the very first day I started!

And it’s a real streak — I haven’t used a Streak Freeze even once.

Somehow or other, I’ve made it this far.

Along the way since my last blog post, there was even a moment when my score matched perfectly.

A 600-day streak and a score of 60 — a perfect little coincidence.
I wasn’t even aiming for it, but I ended up with matching numbers again.
A 666-day streak and a score of 66.

Thanks in part to my friends on Duolingo, it has become a daily routine for me. I wouldn’t say it’s always exciting, but it’s definitely not boring either.

As I mentioned in my previous post, for me it’s like brushing my teeth — if I skip it, it just feels wrong, and after doing it I feel refreshed.

In total, it only takes about 20 minutes a day.

And since the beginning of this year, for some reason…
Somehow, I’ve ended up in the Diamond League — of all places!

I had never made it there even once before, so I was really surprised.

And since things have been going well, I even ended up qualifying for a tournament.

I get the impression that once you reach the Diamond League, people tend to settle down a bit. Since there isn’t really a higher league above it, it feels like many users relax there.

Honestly, it doesn’t seem too hard to avoid dropping down even without trying very much.

And today, as a small thank-you, I’d like to introduce someone — a friend, or rather a partner, as I’d like to call him (even if that’s just my own idea).

He followed me almost a year ago and uses the paid Super version of Duolingo. Of course, our Friends Streak is still going strong

The one at the top — 343 days — is him.

And that’s not all. We also pick each other for the Friends Quest, so we’re often partners there too.

We’ve also cleared the Friends Quest for 48 weeks in a row!

And to begin with, he’s the kind of player who’s already in the Diamond League and even makes it to the tournament finals.

The weekly goals — like 25 lessons or 2000 XP — are probably easy for him to complete on his own. But I’d feel bad being a free rider, so I always try to at least reach my half of the target.

My strength is perfect lessons, though, so I think we make a good team by complementing each other. Because of that, even though the quest starts on Monday, we often finish it by Tuesday!

During that short time, we also send each other Double XP gifts, and we never forget to show our appreciation for one another.

I think the effort I put into these Friends Quests is what has pushed me up into the Diamond League. After that, I usually slow down and go back to my normal pace!

Right now my Spanish score is 71, and the grammar is starting to get more complicated. This is where things really get challenging, but I plan to keep doing my daily lessons — not only for myself, but also so I won’t let him down.
